Man Caves: Troop Cave Edition

7.5.2012

This was one of the greatest experiences of both my professional and personal life. It was only a week, but I was able to meet and work with many members of our Armed Forces, along with the tireless and selfless people of the USO, and have never been more proud to be an American at any time in my life. What was accomplished in the time we had to complete our mission was truly miraculous, and the show itself does a great job of showing how grandeous and herculean the task was.

On the technology side, I was honored to do a scene with co-host Jason Cameron while building a projection screen from scratch materials. Although it was not of pro-quality, it was certainly a great way of showing what's possible when the budget is really tight. Vutec, my screen manufacturer, was gracious to donate a 120inch professional screen shortly after I returned from the Kuwait trip, and it now hangs in place of the home-made screen. We enlisted the students at St. Bridget School in Cheshire, CT to adorn the screen's box with messages and well wishes to the troops before it was sent over.
